Synergies with the MARBEFES project

The MACCIMO project has established valuable synergies with the European project MARBEFES (https://www.marbefes.eu/) to enhance understanding of how marine organisms respond to climate change.

Within this collaboration, several morphological traits were investigated to evaluate their potential as key indicators of climate change impacts. The gastropod Hexaplex trunculus and the sponge Chondrilla nucula were used as model species to identify morphological traits that can serve as response indicators to environmental stressors associated with climate change.
